After graduation, he went on to work for an electric company for one year before joining the Navy, where he worked on the electrical systems of submarines.

After that, he worked for contractors, performing full-time electrical work on the side while working as a Methuen fire fighter and later lieutenant. He brings that disciplined attention to detail that he honed as a Navy vet and now-retired firefighter to every job he takes on.
